Fishing on Eagle Lake is unique in that it produces trophy fishing, of all five major species, throughout the season and is one of the most exciting canadian lakes for fishing. Eagle Lake has fishing for world record muskie (musky), tasty canadian walleye, feisty smallmouth bass, tackle busting northern pike, and an excellent fishing for both lake trout and whitefish.

If that wasn’t enough to keep you busy, we have boats on and day fly-in trips other area canadian fishing lakes such as Corner, Clearwater, Buzzard, McGregor, Bottle Bay, Violet, Stewart, Canyon, and the entire Indian Chain of canadian fishing lakes.

Many guests come for the World-Class fishing and a chance to land a monster sized trophy on Kakagi (Crow) Lake, Lake of the Woods, or one of our remote portage lakes. Deer Trail Lodge, Camp and Resort has been a favorite fishing destination on Eagle Lake for many years. All of our cabins and cottages are right on the lake shore with gorgeous views and every amenity you’ll need.

Whether you choose AMERICAN PLAN (which includes three meals a day, daily maid service and fish cleaning), or HOUSEKEEPING, you will stay in your own private fully modern cabin. Cabins sleep from 2 to 12 people, have separate bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and three piece bathrooms. They are equipped with comfortable beds, dishes, cookware, blankets and sheets. Excellent multi-species fishing for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout, jumbo perch and whitefish all within a 10 minute boat ride from camp. Portage to as many as six other lakes from camp.

The fly-in outpost cabins are deluxe and are all on secluded lakes in Northwest Ontario. Our guests fly in to the outpost lakes, as part of the English River system, from the seaplane base in downtown Kenora.

We also offer Hunters the option of hunting for Black Bear, Whitetail Deer, Ducks, Geese or Grouse while at our main lodge on Pickerel Lake. Hunt for black bear, whitetail deer, ducks, geese or grouse.

We are minutes north of Lake of the Woods, on the eastern limit of the North American central flyway which makes for great bird and waterfowl hunting. Our area is dotted with lakes, rivers and marshes.

The outpost cabins have amenities you wouldn’t ordinarily expect from a fly-in fishing experience.

Sandybeach Lake produces around 25% more trophy northern pike each year compared to the previous year. This is not a lake where guests are heard saying “The northern pike fishing or smallmouth bass fishing was better 10, 15, or 20 years ago on this lake”. We believe this improvement in fishing is a result of our catch-and-release rules, implemented in 1996, for trophy size fish. The improvement in trophy smallmouth bass fishing is proving to be even more impressive. We documented a 200% increase in trophy smallmouth bass caught in 2009 in comparison to 2008. We have an incredible “repeat guest rate” which speaks volumes for the beautiful location, awesome fishing and equipment coupled with a professional staff that awaits you at Rough Rock Lodge.

Our main lodge is on the Winnepeg River System off Minaki Hwy. Our Fly-in outposts are accessible from Nestor Falls on lakes Kiskuteena and Kawaiia.

Boat rentals and guides are also available. We also offer fishing on Lake of the Woods where we have boat slips available to our clients.

We offer combo trips for Musky fishing and guided deer/bear hunts.

Don’t forget our antler shed hunts, ice out northern pike, winter lake trout and snowmobiling.

Trail’s End is situated on 11 acres of prime property with over 1000 feet of shoreline, shaded by towering 300-year-old white pine trees. Our main lodge features a stone fireplace and seasoned, knotty pine walls throughout. A large screened porch off the front of the lodge provides a beautiful view of the lake and a great place to swap fish stories. The camp features 14 housekeeping cabins that can accommodate from 2 to 15 guests. Each cabin is equipped with full size appliances and at least one bathroom. A full “American Plan” is available as well as meals on request.
