Ford’s Guide Service was established in 1995 by Chris Ford. He has always believed in giving clients first class high quality experience at a fair price. Having grown up in a resort family he has hunted, trapped, and fished his whole life. He spent five years as a professional trapper and has been a full-time guide and outfitter for the last 12 years. Captain Chris Ford is licensed by the US Coast Guard and is fully insured. Chris fishes Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River for Walleye, Northern Pike/Muskie and Sauger. We also offer Transport Service to camps on Lake of the Woods.
Having worked at various resorts on the Rainy River and Bostick Creek area of Lake of the Woods he has come to realize that some things that are being done are not in the best interest of the client. Jim has dedicated over 45 years in the pursuit of freshwater bass from Mexico to Minnesota. He is a 20 plus year veteran of competitive bass fishing (over 200 tournaments), having won several individual and team events in the Midwest. Jim also is the Co-Host and founder of the “Fishing Line and Outdoor Radio Show” now in its 25th season, has appeared on several TV fishing shows and is a frequent seminar presenter…. talking and teaching bass fishing.
Jim lives on Mille Lacs during the fishing season and has been chasing Mille Lacs smallmouths for the past 11 years. He started guiding exclusively for “brownies” in 2006. Last year (2007) Jim guided 24 trips and spent over 100 days on the big lake. He is a licensed Master Pilot Guide thru the State of Minnesota and is fully insured. |
